Visiting Santa

Taffy...I was not so sure she was going to go ANYWHERE near him...

This morning, Aftyn and I went to the mall to knock off a couple more gifts and to play a little. She spotted Santa and at first, we just looked at him and waved at him and went on our way. She told me she wanted to go see Santa and I asked if she wanted to talk to him and she said "YES" so we hurried down to see him and she didn't get too close but she did talk to him and when we left, she even gave him a hug! WHOLEY COW!! So after school, we went to the mall with ALL the girls and talked to Santa. I don't know what anyone told him except Taffy wants a pink dolly and Teagan wants an iTouch...yea RIGHT!! I told her I didn't have enough money to buy her one of those and she told me that Santa did...I then told her that Santa will NOT bring her an iTouch if her MOM doesn't even have one!! She doesn't believe me...hope she's not too disappointed on Christmas morning...she still asks why she didn't get everything she wanted last year. I told her Santa had to save some things for the other kids...Kids, I tell ya' = ) Enough for now...-AS PS..If I would have known they were going to cooperate, I would have dressed them better...

Today, Aftyn and I took in lunch to Teagan. I found out if you bring in take out then you have to eat in the classroom so it was kind of nice to have a QUIET lunch today. Just the 3 of us. Teagan showed me the different activities that she does during the day and we got to actually talk about what she has done so far today. That may be a BETTER alternative to eating the school lunch in the NOISY cafeteria (and quite a bit more expensive--which may just be worth it : ) Enough for now...-AS

This is what they called Turkey Dinner... oranges, mashed potatos with some gravy with chunks of ?turkey in it, a bread stick and milk...we passed on the cranberry sauce.

Aftyn and I went and had school lunch with Piper last week. Much to my surprise, the turkey substance tasted better then it appears...still not what I remember as "turkey dinner" from my school days. It was decent and the kids seemed to enjoy it. Then, of course, we had to go to recess with Piper...Aftyn thinks it's AWESOME to be chased by a bunch of big kids. Enough for now...-AS

My kids were actually healthy and the weather was BEAUTIFUL so we decided to go feed the geese. We used to do it often but lately we haven't...I guess we forgot about it, for some reason. The geese were very shy today...they acted like they had never had bread before...some of them came over finally but we had to wait a little bit. Often times, the geese practically ATTACK us for the bread. It was a great time and then we walked around the lake...this lake is soo peaceful...I occasionally jog around it...I love it and it's only a couple miles from our house : ) Enough for now...-AS

We had lunch with Teagan yesterday since we had it with Piper the day before. Yesterdays lunch was waffles, cheese omelet, hashbrowns, and blueberries. This was one of the days that made me understand why Teagan takes her lunch at least 4 days a week..it wasn't that good!! But it was the point that we were there with her and she enjoys us coming...how quickly they grow out of it...We saw Chloe on the playground when we had lunch with Piper and she wouldn't even let us stay a play with her : ( I keep asking her when we can come have lunch with her (Chloe) and so far, I haven't been given a date. I guess it's not so cool when you are in FIFTH grade to have your mom eat lunch with you...but at least we can still be seen together. ; ) Enough for now...-AS

Today, Aftyn and I went and had lunch with Piper. It was walking tacos, which is one of Piper's FAVORITES!! Then, we went out for recess with her, of course! It's nice to meet some of Piper's friends and some teachers since we are new to this school. Enough for now...-AS

Last Friday was our Beggars Night. It was a cold, windy, RAINY night--UGH!! The girls started out in our neighborhood and then went to our old neighborhood to trick or treat. They weren't out long...a total of an hour. Even on a nice night, they go out for a little while but do enjoy passing out the candy for a little while too. As is with every holiday, I'm glad it's over but will be excited about it and look forward to it again next year...Enough...-AS
