Kids say Funny things, part 2

The other day while we were at the mall, I had to stop by the cell phone place to make some changes.  While in there, we got to talking about Teagan going to Kindergarten.  I asked Teagan what they were going to do with her in kindergarten (I was referring to her being full of trouble) and she said, "Probly make me eat things I don't like."  Which would be about everything that isn't deep fat fried or covered in some sort of sugar or chocolate so she may just be right about that!  The other day, I went upstairs to take a nap (naturally) and when I came down, Teagan had eaten ALL the marshmallows out of the box of Lucky Charms--ALL OF THEM!!  She left behind the cereal part, of course.  Goof ball!!

Today I picked her and Piper up at Preschool and the teachers were laughing when I walked up and I asked what was so funny.  Teagan had made me a Mother's Day card at school today and the teachers put some questions in the card and had the kids answer them.  She said that I am 30 feet tall, weigh 1000 pounds (YES, 1000!) and my favorite food is carrots-NOT!, I drink pop and like to watch the news so she did get a couple of questions right.  Too Cute!!  I'm wondering if Piper is going to do that.  Last year, Teagan said I was 23 yrs old!!  I liked that card--I should frame it!!

Tonight I got Piper out of the tub and I helped her put on her panties and nighty and her panties had NO design on them, plain white.  She said, "why don't dese have anysing on dem?"  I said, " I don't know, they're just plain."  She said, " They look like jail panties."  I'm not exactly sure how she knows what jail panties look like but she has been OBSESSED with jail the last few months.

WHAT A WEEK!!! revised 4-30

Wow!  What a week and a half we've had!  It started Friday, April 18th.  I went down stairs to check my email before work, like I always do.  I get to the bottom of the stairs and squish, squish, squish.  "Shane!!  The carpet is wet!"  So he proceeds to come down, check a few things and say, "Great, Find us a new house on the computer TODAY!"  Well, that sounds great BUT we probably should fix the water problem and sell this one FIRST.  Just a thought.... Shane went to work and came home early to soak up the water (I think he should have gone in late, but what do I know??) He was convinced that the foundation was leaking and I keep saying it's the sump pump--but then again, what do I know??  He called me at 3:00 after he assessed the situation and guess what??  It was the SUMP PUMP!!  It came disconnected from the pipe that runs the water outside.  Yeah, atleast that's an easy fix.  He ran the fan all weekend and after squishing my way to the computer all weekend, I called a carpet shampoo company out on Monday morning just to shampoo it real quick and dry it and maybe $100 later, it would be good as new, right?  HA!!  "Well, you need to get rid of the pad and we'll need to spray some ___acide and we'll bring in some high powered fans, and blah, blah, blah..."  Ok that'll cost about $1800!!!!  WHAT???  Good thing I asked for an estimate before I let them do any work!!
I then call Shane at work because he had NO IDEA that I called them in (he would have said no).  I obviously turned it into insurance since it was a much LARGER project then we had anticipated.  So we are getting new carpet in the WHOLE house!!  As it turns out, this was a BLESSING IN DISGUISE!  I have been wanting to rearrange the basement but if you'd have seen how many toys we have down there, you'd understand how overwhelming it was to even think about it.  So not only do I have most of my upstairs cleaned out, my basement will be clean as well.  What a Deal!!

We had already arranged to get new carpet in the entire upstairs and when they did the first half of it last Thursday, I took Taffy to the mall and we walked around and played at the play area and then I took the girls (all but Chloe who was in school...sshhh, don't tell her!) out to lunch after preschool and then we went to the Rainbow swingset play area.  They really liked it.  I thought it was just ok.  Today, the guys came back and did the other half of the main living area and so I took Taffy to the sitter and Teagan and Piper and I went out for lunch after preschool and then bowling and then to the mall.  It was a pretty fun day.  Piper and I went to the Y while Teagan was at preschool.  I would love to show you some pictures because I did take them at the Rainbow play place but I broke my stinkin' camera!!  NOT GOOD!!  Anyway, hope your week has been a good one.  Enough for now....

ps. I got a new camera so here are the few pics I took before my camera bit the dust...

Funny things Kids Say...

So Piper and I lay down for a nap today (Ok, I threaten her so she won't leave the room while I'm sleeping) and we are talking and she's picking her nose and actually putting the contents of her nose into a Kleenex (amazing!!) and she looks at me and says, "Mom, I want boogers like yours."  I said, " what does that mean?  What are my boogers like?"  And she said, "they're big ones."  OK!  Whatever that means??

A couple of weeks ago, we were watching Dancing with the Stars or something along that line and I happen to mention that the lady kind of had big boobs.  Chloe looks at me and says, "Mom, you have skinny boobs."  I've been DYING my whole life to have something skinny and it turns out, it's my boobs--GREAT!!  The one thing I don't necessarily want to be "SKINNY"!  So I have BIG boogers and SKINNY boobs--shouldn't that be reversed??

Teagan always cracks me up.  I can't think of anything specific she has said recently except she told me the other day, "I don't want to be a mom, I just want to be 6".  Ok, I can handle that.  Just don't change your mind when your 16!!

Tonight, Piper asked for help putting on an undershirt to wear to bed instead of her pajama shirt and she says as she raises her arms to the sky, " Do I have hairy armpits?"  "No, you don't have hairy armpits."  Where do they get this stuff??

(check out Teagan's outfit she wore to see the Easter Bunny--she is a Fashion Diva!!  Red striped sweater, green floral skirt, purple tights and brown tennis shoes--WHOA!!  The other picture is how much fun you can have with Body Crayons.)

SPRING IS HERE!! : )

Yeah!!!  FINALLY!!!  A few nice days to get out and enjoy the sunshine!!  I am SOOO PUMPED about the weather!  And so are my kids--Taffy included!!  We had to put a lock on the screen door in back so she wouldn't a.) escape  b.) let out the precious Zo-Zo  (they would escape too--BOTH of them)
I'm pretty sure that Aftyn is a "broken arm waiting to happen"--she can climb CLEAR to the top of the play area at the park behind our house.  That thing is clear over my head and then she'll go down the twirly slide by herself.  I usually send Piper up there with her but if she's not around then Taffy will go alone.  Her broken arm will be done either by herself or with the help of Teagan.  She can't seem to leave Aftyn alone, therefore, Aftyn's first sentence will most likely be, "TEAGAN, LEAVE HER ALONE!" or "TEAGAN, PUT HER DOWN!"  If it's this summer that she starts speaking full sentences, it may also be, "TEAGAN, GET OUTSIDE!" Any of those will work.    Piper decided this past week that she no longer needs naps--NOT GOOD!!  She does need naps and so do I (probably I need them more then she does)!  She and Teagan decided to go outside on Wednesday during naptime--HIGHLY against the rules!!  "But Mom, Chloe was watching us".  So I also need a security system just to set off an alarm in whichever room I'm taking a nap in when a door opens.  I don't need it to be hooked up to the police, just to me.  The problem with Piper not taking a nap is that there are TWO kids to think up trouble ( and prevent ME from taking a nap) and she can be EVIL!! when she's tired.  I know, I know.  She looks soo sweet and she can be BUT WATCH OUT!!  I swear sometimes that her head will spin around when she's in a MOOD!!   So the truth comes out--this is why I keep having kids--its an excuse for me to have 12 weeks off(?) a year and  so I can continue taking naps.  I've gotten a nap for 9 years now (actually longer) and I'm not sure what I'm gonna do when Aftyn grows out of them--I guess we'll start adopting!!   I'm not sure why I don't have any pictures of my other kids--they were outside also.  I'll work on that and include them next time.  I have a MILLION of Piper and her crazy faces--she won't let you hardly take a picture unless she's SILLY!!  --enough for now...-AS

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, BABY

Today is our 12th Anniversary.  Whhooaaa!!  Where did the time go??  I don't feel like I could have been married that long.  I barely feel much over 25!!  I certainly still have to pinch myself when I actually think about the fact that we have FOUR kids.  HOLY COW that's alot of kids!!  That will ring even truer when its time to pay for college and WEDDINGS-Uugghh!!

We didn't do anything special to celebrate.  We went to church and I did laundry ALL DAY (that's my Sunday activity) and I took a nap with Piper and Shane went to get my favorite sandwich at Granite City--Chicken Salad Club on Foccacia--MMmmm, TO DIE FOR!!  So we ate take out for dinner.  But we've been doing that WAY TOO OFTEN lately.  I'm kind of in a cooking rut.  It was also hair wash and bath night for the girls--another Sunday ritual.  Pretty uneventful and I don't have any pictures on iphoto of Shane and I together so I guess I'll post some of "wild thang" (Aftyn) and who ever else I find that's cute...Anyway, Happy Anniversary Shane.  I love you very much!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHLOE : )

Today is my oldest "baby's" birthday!!  She's turning 9 and I can't believe it!  I remember having her like it was yesterday and I remember telling someone that "I was never doing that again!!"  At the time, I meant it too.  It's amazing what a little time will do to you.  My, how our life has changed since then!!  We are in our 5th place since she was born and we've been in the current house for almost 6 years so she doesn't remember most of her homes and we've obviously added a few kids along the way too.  They all came with the house because the other 3 have never moved.  At one time I even thought Chloe would be my hardest kid--HA!  I had NO IDEA what hard could be and I really still don't as none of them are in High School yet.  Feel free to pray for us OFTEN  in the next 18 years -- we will need it, I'm sure.

She had her birthday party with her friends at the bowling alley and everyone had a pretty good time.  And then today she had breakfast in bed (a Sindlinger tradition) before heading off to church so she had to get up a little earlier then usual.  The rest of the day was a normal Sunday.  She started Volleyball camp today and played with her Nintendo DS, etc.  Then I made her do some math homework from a workbook that I bought her on Spring Break.  She was REALLY not happy about that as she does NOT like Math!!  Anyway, I think she got some nice gifts and had a Great time with her friends and Grandparents and Aunt Alicia.  Happy Birthday, Chloe!!  We love you very much!  ; )

Zoey...

OK, This will be my last blog about this silly cat....Everyone knows that Shane really didn't want the cat but he graciously let us have it.  Since she's been part of our family, HE has paid the most attention to her.  He told me that he wanted "nothing to do with that stupid cat. I'm not feeding her and I'm NOT scooping cat poop!".  Two nights ago, I caught him SCOOPING CAT POOP!  I said, " Caught you!  I thought you weren't scooping cat poop?"  He didn't say anything.  Tonight, I am running around upstairs with my head cut off trying to get Teagan dressed, Piper out of the tub and Chloe's hollering at me because Aftyn is doing her best to empty her entire book case on the floor.  I grab Aftyn to take her down stairs because Shane isn't upstairs anywhere to help and there he is, sitting in the recliner PETTING THE CAT!!  I said, "Hello, you have 4 OTHER girls that need your help right now."  He said, "I'm making supper."  Ok, I'll give him that--he WAS boiling water for the macaroni and cheese!!
(By the way, that's a picture of our NEGLECTED dog, Willie.)
