Taffy's Birthday Party--She's gonna be 2!! :)

All the guests at the Party.
Taffy, Teagan and Isabelle opening Taffy's gift.
Taffy hugging a Dr Suess Character (I don't know his name. :(  )
Piper, Isabelle and Teagan eating Pizza.
Tonight, we had Taffy's birthday party at Godfather's Pizza--YUM!!  That works out good for me--not much prep or clean up!!  And then I'm not a basket case trying to keep the kids from spilling since we are trying to sell the house and between Piper and Aftyn, there are ALOT of spills on a regular basis.  We were without alot of guests but with kids getting older, they have many activities and my dad had a conference to attend this weekend for his job.  We missed them but the party will go on and it did.  For the last 2 weeks, I have been asking Aftyn what she wants for her birthday, just to see what she's say.  Her answer was consistently "Take".  (cake) so that's what she got and a few more things.  Shane and I will give her her gifts from us on Tuesday as that is her "real" birthday.  Thanks to all that were able to come to her party!!  We appreciate the effort to get here :)  Enough for now...-AS

Going to Grandma and Grandpa's House

Yet ANOTHER cake for birthdays in January (and February)  How many cakes does Teagan get for her birthday??  So far this year--THREE!!  That's what Taffy will tell you she wants for her birthday--easy enough!!
The Birthday girls (Grandma Cindy Jan 18th, Teagan Jan 13, Taffy Feb 3) and Piper (her birthday is in May)
Teagan and her presents (yes, she did her own hair)
Taffy got a new dress up--she's diggin it too.
On our way home, we stopped at Applebee's for lunch.  We had time to kill and empty tummy's.
This weekend, we went to Kansas City to get out of the house so Shane could clean for our Open House.  It was a quick trip--got there Saturday afternoon and left late Sunday Morning.  Chloe ended up going to Omaha with Max and family so she's not in the pics.  Swimming (at the hotel in Omaha) took precedence over anything else.  We didn't do much, which is ok with me.  We did go out to eat at Granite City and then came home and had a "party" for the birthdays since Grandma and Grandpa can't come this weekend for Aftyn's party.  If it's warm next time I go down, I want to visit this new outdoor mall.  It looks pretty cool but I'm a fair weather shopper.  Enough for now...-AS

Roller Skating anyone??

Teagan doing the limbo...
Chloe skating by...
Not sure why Teagan is laying on the floor??
Piper smiling...
I took the girls roller skating again this weekend.  We had some unexpected down time so we went skating instead of relaxing.  This time, Shane stayed home with Aftyn and I skated.  It was pretty fun!! and DANGEROUS!!  Just because I was GOOD in 8th grade does NOT mean I'm still good at 38!! (note to self)  I took some pretty good spills and I'd like to believe that NONE of them were my own fault as I was usually helping one of my girls.  One time, I SWORE I broke my elbow.  MAN, THAT HURT!!  An older man in his 60s had to come over and help me.  He asked if I was ok and at the time, I wasn't--OUCH!!  My elbow is STILL sore--I can't even do my weights at the Y with that arm.  And a couple of times, I landed on Chloe--thanks, babe, for softening my fall!! ;)  She asked why I kept landing on her--well because it hurts if I land on the floor, GOOFBALL!!  It was fun and I may just sit out the next time we go (ok I doubt that, but it wouldn't hurt so much if I did!!)  enough for now...-AS

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TEAGAN!! <3

Teagan picked cinnamon roll and sausage for her birthday breakfast.
Somehow the tradition turned into EVERYONE in the bed gets to eat in bed.  Teagan, Taffy and Chloe waiting patiently.  There's no getting Piper in here for that--she'd rather sleep and that's what she's doing.
Teagan opening gifts and Piper's trying to wake up.

Teagan in her birthday hat and sash eating her cake.
Taffy and Teagan answering questions from her friends.
Teagan and her SECOND birthday cake.

Happy birthday, Teagan!!  She turned 6 today--yeah!!  Her whole goal in life is to be 6.  I used to ask her if she was going to be a mom or go to college and whole slew of questions like that--her answer was always, "No, I want to be 6."  GREAT!!  Now hopefully we can move on to bigger and better things!  Teagan was kind of a miracle child for us.  We had to seek infertility treatment to get her (yeah, yeah--haven't had any trouble since!)  She was our Clomid baby, which I blame for a lot of things (even though I think it's her LEFT handed personality-- hehe)

Anyway, today started with Breakfast in bed--that's what you get when it's your birthday--even though she had already been out of bed and I told her to go get in bed if she wanted breakfast in bed.  (the theory is that we wake them up and surprise them with breakfast but after the first year, it's just EXPECTED!!)  Then she came down and unwrapped her gifts (we only did that this morning before school because she was getting new clothes--otherwise it's after school so daddy can be there too.)

For snack time at school, I took in a cake (her choice--I would have picked something easier and not so messy but Miss Reed ok'd it)  The kids LOVED it!!  And when it's your treat day you get to bring something for show and tell so Teagan brought a new toy she got at her skating party and her baby sister, Taffy.  Other then that, it was a completely normal day!!  Hopefully they all sleep through the night after the sugar high they've been on!  Anyway, enough for now.  Happy Birthday, Teagee!!  We love you!!  -AS

Conversation with Piper...

I just had the WEIRDEST conversation with Piper...  It goes like this:
Me:  Piper, can you let the dog it?
Piper:  Yeah...
Me:  PIPER, Can you let the dog in?
P:  Oh yeah-Forgot.  If I go to jail, he'll miss me.
Me:  Yeah and so will I.  Are you gonna go to jail?
P:  No, I'm just saying, he'll miss me if I go to jail.
Me:  Do you WANT to go to jail?
P:  No.
Me:  He'll also miss you if you go on vacation.
P:  Yeah.

Were does a four year old get this stuff??  This past summer she was telling me about the underwear people wear in jail.  I think Shane or I put on white underwear or something and she said they looked like jail underwear.  She's been obsessed with this topic for a while now.  Is this how criminals start out??  Oh Lord, PLEASE HELP ME!!
Update:   Now she told me that when it's supper time and police are still working, they have to eat supper at jail.  But, she continued, Dad doesn't do that because he likes to eat supper at home.  Alrighty then, Pipes.  Seriously, we may need the SUPER NANNY!!

Teagan's Birthday Party.

Today, we had Teagan's birthday party.   She turns 6 on Tuesday.  We decided to do a roller skating party--what a FANTASTIC idea!!  It certainly was ALOT less stressful then other parties we've hosted over the years and, more importantly, I think the girls had a BLAST!!  We'll definitely do that again!!  Six year olds are alot of fun!!  We made one mistake--we didn't get a sitter for Taffy.  So the plan was that Shane would watch her and I would skate with the girls.  Yeah, I didn't make it a lap before Taffy was SOBBING.  So Shane put on skates and skated with the girls.  I really wanted to skate and mid way through, I thought we could switch and Shane didn't want to.  HE wanted to skate--GO FIGURE!!  Anyway, it was a Great Day and definitely someplace we will go back to.  Enough for now...-AS

New Year, New you (us)

When Piper got her haircut last week, that really put Chloe, Teagan and I in the mood to change our dos also.  So last night, despite the freezing rain and snow, we headed out to see Tara.  Chloe got hers chopped up to her chin, Teagan didn't get too much taken off but she added bangs (NOT my choice--too much maintenance for me!  I tried to talk her out of it.) and I got 4-5 inches off and it layered up all around.  Ooohhh, it feels soo GOOD!!  I just hope I can make it look decent when I go to do it myself.  Hairdressers make it look so easy--HAH!!  Enough for now...-AS
