Since all Taffy wanted for her birthday was cake, it was the only appropriate thing for her to have as her "breakfast in bed."

This pic should have been first--she's sooo TIRED!!

Opening her gifts: an Elmo Tub toy.

A new scooter to keep up with the big kids come summer time!!

The mall play area.

Story time at Pottery Barn Kids.

eating cream cheese at Panera.

Throwing her first "Terrible Two's " Tantrum because Mom took a bite of HER bagel (that SHE wasn't eating--she was only eating the cream cheese!!)

Ok we recovered to go on the bus ride.

And the boat ride.

Today is Taffy's "real" birthday. My baby girl is TWO!! We started out pretty busy this morning. After we dropped all the kids off at their respective schools, we headed to the mall. I was having a touch of cabin fever and we haven't been there in weeks, it seems. So on the COLDEST day of the week, that's what we did. We played at the play area first and she told me when she was "done" so we went and rode the escalator. That was a GREAT invention by someone, if for no other reason then to keep kids HAPPY!! I was trying to figure out how I was gonna take a picture of her going either up or down but since I was alone, didn't think that would be a real SAFE idea. Maybe next time. We rode the escalator UP so we could go get a bagel at Panera's. We split one and it was ok until she wasn't eating it and I took a bite and she was MAD!! Hello!! It was an Asiago Cheese bagel--those are the BEST and I would NOT let that go to waste!! So she showed what a Terrible Two Temper Tantrum is all about--she's been
hinting at them for a week or so but today's was FULL BLOWN. Does she not realize I have 3 girls older then her so I'm pretty good at ignoring them?? Guess not so I took her picture instead. She finally recovered when I asked her if she wanted to go ride the cars. That made it better. But on the way to the cars, we got to ride the escalator DOWN and then we stopped at Pottery Barn Kids just in time for their story time. She was more into playing with the GIANT doll house, which was pretty cool!! Then we stopped at The Children's Place and she conned me out of a pair of flip flops. They were SUPER CUTE and only $3.50 so what the heck. Finally we got to the cars. I put money in the first car and she wasn't so sure this was a good idea so she got out pretty fast. Even by the next time she rode, she wasn't sure so I quit putting money in and she was just as content. Then our time had run out and we had to go pick up Piper from preschool. The rest of HER day was uneventful. I, on the other hand, had to do a mad dash to the vacuum store because mine is on the blink and so I was late picking up the kids and then Shane came home early so I could run Chloe to the Doctor. She's been barkin' like a seal for 2 or 3 days now. She was PRAYING for whooping cough so she could stay home the rest of the week but no such luck for her. She just has a bad cough. Now Teagan's been complaining for a couple days of a stomach ache and/or a headache. I'm trying to decide what to do with her. And Piper, who is usually my sickly one is somewhat healthy but now complaining of ear pain. I'm not sure if it's real or just because everyone else is sick. We'll find out tomorrow when I take Taffy in for her well baby check. I'll have him look in her ear too. Tis the season...Enough for now...-AS
