Here is a picture of Piper's Eye almost 48 hours after the incident. She didn't wake up very well yesterday or today and within an hour of waking up, she ended up vomiting both days so she won herself a trip to the Pediatrician. She is scheduled to see the Dr in an hour from now. Her swelling did go down quite a bit but now the color is more intense. I'll let you know how this turns out. I'm guessing she'll be fine but you just never know...-AS

Teagan and Piper visit the Eye Doctor
"Piper, which is better? One or Two?"
"Which shape jumps out of the page?"
Teagan's turn...
Checking to see if Teagan is color blind.
Piper is gonna wake up with a BIG shiner tomorrow...her eye really is that swollen partially closed.
OUCH!!
Can't really tell from here how much her eye lid is sticking out! Her nose is clean though ; )
Chloe was diagnosed about a month ago with Optic Nerve Drusen. It's a swelling of the optic nerves which could be hereditary or it could be caused by intercranial pressure. But until you know which one your child has, it's kind of scary!! (being a CT Tech makes it all the WORSE to wait and find out) Thankfully, Chloe's is hereditary however, we don't know WHO started it since Shane and I have never been told that we have it. Regardless, the specialist we saw at The Wolfe Eye Clinic suggested I get the other girls tested. So today, I took in Teagan and Piper for their eye exams. (NOT even going to try to get pictures of Aftyn's optic nerves at this age!!) They both have 20/20 vision and NO Optic Nerve Drusen!! I'm not sure if this will present itself with problems in the future for Chloe or how this will all shake out but just to be sure, we have to take her back in 6 months to see Dr Suh at Wolfe Eye Clinic just to make sure the swelling is stable. Enough for now...-AS
PS. Not more than 3 hours after seeing the eye dr, Piper got NAILED on the neighbors' trampoline by a knee or something. I'm certain she'll wake up with a big shiner in the morning!!

Piper picked out a new career for me
Today on the way to taking Piper to preschool, she said, "Mom, why aren't you a policeman? I mean police girl?"
I said, "Oh, I don't know. Because that's a hard job."
She said, "All you have to do is drive around and arrest people."
Deep down, I wanted to say, "Are you stinkin" CRAZY?? People are NUTS out there and I'm SCARED of them!!" But I didn't say anything.
She said, "I know what you should do if the police is chasing you and you have a red light."
I said, "What's that Piper? What should I do?"
"You should stop and then when it turns green, you can go."
I said, "I'll get in trouble if I go when they want me to stop so they can talk to me. I might even have to go to jail."
"And get a ticket?", she said.
I said, "Yeah, probably a ticket and have to go to jail."
Why is this chick so OBSESSED with Police officers and Jail?? I don't get it!! I try not to feed into it too much but it just won't die!! Any advice is needed!! Enough for now...-AS

Welcome Home, GIRLS!! : )
The girls got home last night from staying at their grandparents house in Fort Dodge. Taffy was happy to come home, I suppose. She hasn't really been away from me anymore then 9 hours except for once that I can remember when I shipped them out to my cousin's house so we could go to a 40th Birthday Party. Oh, and one other time over Thanksgiving?? I can't remember now but she hasn't been gone much. She's my baby. The other girls are HAPPY to go ANYWHERE!! They LOVE sleepovers anywhere. Chloe wasn't very happy to come home but she doesn't really have anyone her age in this neighborhood, really. Piper was home about 10 minutes before she headed out the door to check on Cael and any other friend she happened to run into. Teagan came in and went out a couple of times. I don't know if she really hooked up with any friends or not. The "quiet time" was NICE but I'm paying for it now with the MOUNTAIN of laundry!! Oh well. It was worth it!! Enough for now, I gotta fold the last of the girls clothes...AS

Home ALONE!!
Home ALONE!! Well, not actually alone but Shane and I have NO kids right now!! AAHHHhh...can you hear that?? We can actually think straight and have a conversation without being interrupted a MILLION times!! The girls were invited to stay at Grandma and Grandpa's in Fort Dodge so Shane took them up on Saturday while I was working and then he came home to clean because we had an Open House yesterday so we spent ALOT of our "alone time" cleaning!! It's nice to know that what you just cleaned, won't get UNDONE before you've left the area!! It's been awfully QUIET without the girls but we have both been so busy, we really haven't had time to really miss them. Evenings are the time when I miss them the most though. It's sooo QUIET!! We have gone out to eat a few times with the girls gone and today I cleaned out my van--GROSS!! While I did that, Shane went in to work to be with a patient who was having a surgery and has no family (see, he CAN be nice!!). The girls will be home tomorrow evening but I have to work tomorrow--what was I thinking when I said YES to working during Spring Break?? DUMB!! Oh well--atleast I'm not paying a sitter for ALL 4 of them tomorrow!! Anyway, have a Good Night!! Enough...AS
ps I took a picture of Shane and I out at Red Robin but we both looked like dorks. Maybe I'll post it, maybe I won't--we'll see...

And who can resist a water puddle??
Pushing the stroller up the drive.
Sorry I haven't blogged lately. We have been busy, maybe not with anything to interesting, but busy nonetheless.
Last week, the temp SOARED into the low 70s and I had some leaves to rake and some outdoor stuff to do so Taffy and I "played" outside while all the others were at school. What a FABULOUS day we had!! Then we brought home some McDonalds after we picked up Piper from preschool and they had a picnic on the deck. Enough for now...-AS
