Since it was my birthday (Allison's) last week, I decided I wanted to go the the Omaha Zoo = ) Chloe was at camp so she wasn't with us but she had been to the zoo earlier in the year with her girl scout troop. We FINALLY saw most of the zoo...usually we see the front half and then the kids want to leave to go to the hotel to swim...this year, we didn't get a hotel but just made it a day trip (it's only a 2 hour drive). We actually stayed for almost 4 hours!! (a record for our family!!) It was a perfect day with sun and a high of 78 degrees--also an unusual August day!! Usually it's MUCH hotter then that! On our way home, we stopped at Red Lobster...one of my favorite places to eat lunch!! anyway, we had a GREAT day and I ate WAY TOO MUCH!! (and, of course, we missed Chloe!) Enough for now...-AS
