Piper's haircut...

Piper at home swinging her new do.  (I don't get how this thing uploads pics--BACKWARDS, I guess!!)
After Piper, Taffy had to try out the chair and Tara put a few curls in her hair.  Taffy said, "Hot" when she curled it.
Piper getting the blow dry.
Piper's getting cut.
Look!!  She's a HERSHEY'S KISS or is she a CUPIE DOLL??

Piper got a MUCH NEEDED haircut today!!  It was getting to be a big snarly mess!  She only wanted a TRIM but I told Tara to do a CUT!!  I think she took off about 4-5 inches.  Luckily for me, she LOVES her new do!  It is SUPER CUTE!!  I told her she looks 5, it always pays to stroke the ego a little--even for a 4 year old.  After Piper got done, everyone else wanted a cut too so we all have appointments for next week.  Chloe informed me she wanted her hair "an inch above my shoulders".  Well, alrighty then.  That would be nice and easy to take care of!!  Enough for now...Have a good night. -AS
PS.  I was putting Teagan to bed tonight and I had to give her a hug and a kiss (in THAT order!) and she told me to wait a minute so that she could show me that BOYS have to tilt their heads when they are kissing girls "for 3 minutes".  Nice Teagan!  Where does she get this stuff??
Another funny...Today I took the girls out for lunch because we are giving up restaurants for MY New Years Resolution and we are waiting for our food to arrive and someone in a different booth sneezed twice and Teagan in her not so quiet voice says, "Who keeps BARKIN'?"  I, along with the waiter, just busted out LAUGHING!!  It was soo stinkin' FUNNY!!

Sindlinger Christmas

Teagan taking her turn riding on Grandpa's legs.  Piper looking on.
Now it's Piper's turn while Aftyn watches.  Chloe is oblivious to it all.
Now Aftyn is joining in on the FUN!!

Grandma Linda with Taffy.
Shane's parents came down to our place yesterday for Christmas.  They went a little over the 2 present rule but all was good.  The kids always enjoy them coming down and can hardly wait!!  Shane took them for a drive yesterday morning so that I could clean up a little more and to occupy them.  They aren't patient waiters--they continuously say "when are grandma and grandpa going to be here?"  So that helped me--I don't know if they said it to Shane while they we out driving or not?  That made the wait (atleast for me) more bearable!!  Shane and I actually cooked too!!  (That's a miracle)  We had ham and cheesy hashbrown casserole and rolls and pumpkin pie!!  It was delicious if I do say so myself!!  I'm always excited about Christmas but I'm also usually happy to be done with it too.  So here's to another year...Hapy Holidays and Happy New Year!!  Enough...-AS

Isabelle, Teagan, Henry, Chloe, Taffy, Max, Jack and Piper.

We had Christmas with my side of the family today.  My brother, Tony and his wife, Karen, hosted.  They have the 3 boys, jack, Henry and Max.  It was pretty uneventful as usual.  We ate, opened presents, the kids ran wild and had an All Star Wrestling match.  Much to my surprise today, no one got hurt.  That's always a good thing!!  It was getting kind of rough.  Jack and Henry are probably feeling warn out as all the kids were piling on top of them.
My parents came up from Kansas City and my sister and her daughter, Isabelle, came over from Fort Madison.  Thankfully, the weather was decent for both of their commutes.
Enough for now, we are hosting the Sindlinger side Christmas tomorrow and I need to get some things done before morning...-AS

Christmas Day...

This is what we left for Santa and the Reindeer.  Plenty of notes for them too!!

Not sure why Santa brought Taffy gifts--she's happy with a diaper box.
Teagan, my model, is showing you her new outfit and her new camera.
These are some of the gifts Santa left.

Hope this finds everyone happy and healthy and ready to begin the New Year!!  Christmas Day went without a hitch.  I think everyone was happy with what they received.  Chloe said that she came down stairs at 1 AM to check out the situation.  I said, "What did you do at 1 o'clock?"  She said, "I looked around and I was kind of disappointed."  I said, "Why?"  And she said, "Because there wasn't much stuff."  Shane quickly reminded her that she got to go on a very wonderful and expensive trip and that Santa knew that and saved some of the toys for the kids that weren't so lucky.  She did get plenty of what she wanted and I didn't hear her complain about anything except NOT getting a potty doll.  I guess Santa thought she was too old for that and probably wouldn't play with it anyway.  Piper and Teagan both got little cameras, which incidentally don't work with our Mac computer.  They don't seem to be too bothered by it though.  Aftyn got a cute little singing Barney doll whose tummy lights up when he sings.  She really likes that, along with Piper's Polly pockets that she (Piper) got.  I don't know if I posted this or not, but we couldn't find our stockings and had to make Zip Lock baggie ones and we only made them for the kids but Santa must have brought another because I had a WHOLE gallon bag of chocolate!!  YUMMY!!  Chloe asked where he got it from and I had NO CLUE!!  We still have 2 more Christmas' to celebrate this weekend so I'll keep you posted on how those go.  One of them is at my brother, Tony's house tomorrow and then on Sunday, Shane's parents are coming down here.  They weren't suppose to buy gifts since we took a big vacation together but they did anyway.  Anyway, I don't even think I took any pictures because the girls were and then they couldn't even download them.  Bummer!  I'll take some this weekend.  Have a good night...-AS      ps.  I found a few pics but didn't take any of them opening gifts.  Duh...

Christmas Eve...

Teagan at home after Church.
Teagan, Taffy and Me, Allison, after Church.
Taffy, Chloe, Piper and Teagan.
We took the girls to Christmas Eve service this evening, as we always do.  Since our kids are smaller, we opt for the 5 pm service as opposed to the 11 pm.  Anyway, funny, short story...We were going about the service pretty uneventful and then it came time to pray and the pastor said something about the presents were bought and wrapped and the cookies were baked.  JUst when you thought they weren't listening, Teagan blurts out, "MOM, we forgot to bake the cookies!"  I can see the older ladies sitting ahead of us start to snicker and I quietly reassured her that we would bake some when we go home. (Which we did.  We baked some peanut butter with chocolate stars.  We had to have something for Santa!)  Chloe also wrote Santa a note because since we are selling our house, lots of stuff is in the storage unit and among the items is our stockings (hopefully).  She wrote him a note stating that we can't find our stockings this year but he could use the labeled Zip Lock bags on the table for stockings.  She wrote another note saying that she and her sisters would "enjoy" a Wii and some Wii games and that Teagan didn't care what she got.  And a third note pointed to some carrots that were labeled as Reindeer food.  I didn't buy any toys this year for the girls so I hope Santa brings some!!  I'll fill  you in tomorrow...Enough for now...-AS
